European Championships, Wildalpen and Prague Rodeo!

Been a while without an update, had some busy days but let's start from beginning!

My last post included wrap-up before the championships. Every day was very busy for me with mostly 2 starts in different categories per day. In Mens i got through qualifications at 20th position which provided me some stress while waiting for the scores as it was the last place with ticket to the next round.Honza came 17th but unfortunetly Ondra dropped out at 31th place. In the same day I've had prelims for C1 and advanced from 8th place to semifinals. In squirt I advanced from 3rd place to semifinals. At thursday we had quaterfinals for mens - 3 rides and sum of 2 best counts. I had some good moves in my runs but wasnt sure if it will be enough for the semi, unfortunetly i was first one which dropped - coming at 11th place and missing 60 pts to higher place. Unluckly for Honza judges didnt appreciate his routine and he ended up at 16th place. After quaters i had a small break and then went straight for semifinals of C1 - I didnt really look for any bigger score here but after getting really good ride with air loop and helix i was looking for final five but judges didnt score it so i ended up at 9th place. The last category i was in was squirt boating where i finished at 2nd place which put me into saturdays finals.

Squirt boat final was opening category for saturdays entertainment but there were already alot of people watching. I did 3 good runs and ended up 3rd getting Bronze Medal!

At evening we had beatiful  ceremony with anthems and flagues followed by big party! Unfortunetly alot of people had to leave to get home on time. Luckly we werent in hurry so we enjoyed our time. With Ondra, Honza and Jan Choutka - our C1ing friend we went in the morning to meet with Femke from Sandiline who provided us with some awesome new gear so we went for local wave which is located 30 km upstream from Lienz to test it. We really loved our new lifejackets which you don't even notice as you have so big movement possibility! And also they are so light and comfy!
The water there at Isel was quite cold but thanks to our new powerstretches with warm polar inside we stayed warm for whole session! The wave there wasnt too big but was fast and stip so we could go for all aerials moves! Was really good fun to paddle there but in afternoon water rised and wave wasnt surfable anymore so we packed our car and left to Wildalpen for next competition!

We arrived in the evening to Naturfreunde camping where we have our lovely schmidthaus. Next day i went to work at liquid-lifestyle school and in the meantime Honza and Ondra were training at local playspot (you can find an update about it under this LINK) We were preparing our promo movie so we spent alot of time recording and working on it which with work and trainings made our week quite busy. On thursday came Tomo Andrassy from Slovakia brining new VAJDA Beast for Ondra. He really loved it from the first moment he sat in it. You could see him improving just in this few day which you can notice from scores!

Wildalpen rodeo was second part of Alpine Rivers Freestyle Cup and last part for Austrian Cup. Competition took place at saturday, Most of people were from Czech and Austria. Honza and me, beside K1M category started also in C1 where we got straight to finals and ended up Honza at 3rd and me 4th.
After prelims i was 1st followed by Honza, Tomo, Ondra and Marcel which made beatiful heat of VAJDA Beasts. To the final we proceeded in same 5 but with some shuffling - Tomo was on the lead, Honza second and I was 3rd. Was so good to get final 5 with whole Pirate-Productions Crew! Final rides were really awesome and made the score really tight in the end. I won with 1029 pts, Honza 2nd. 1027pnts, Tomo 3rd followed by Marcel and Ondra.

After the competition there was an awesome party with AARA band - playing on everything that we brought to them! Next day my teammates left back to home but I will be here in wildalpen for over then week working and practicing but later will move to Prague for Troja Freestyle Fest!

Looking forward for competition in Prague as CNAWR is preparing new hole there to have an awesome place for training!
