Six Flaaags! & Official training: ON!

Ahhh, sunshine is here finally! Same as most of the athletes as national training are just about to begin tomorrow! Last days I spent practicing tricks, picking best ones and sorting them into my routine which in next days will become my routine which i have to master. There'd been some hard choices for me if i should go for  big tricks, get them in between with small ones and try to link them up, go huge or go fast and low one after other or just focus at each trick separetly. I was really happy that Dennis arrived - He's running ASP program which I m part of and thanks to his advices i could get everything sorted. All in all i got my run prepared and now it's time for team trainings where I m going to work at their recurrence.

The official  trainings are starting at 11:30, and we are divided into 8 groups. Each group has 1 hour which will be probably only 2-3 rides as Poland is together with Slovakia, Czech, France and Holland.  And each of this countries got some strong paddlers there. Anyway it's all you need at this time. To get ready for this week session i took Saturday & Sunday off.

On Saturday we decided to go to SixFlags Over Georgia Park in Atlanta. Which was probably the best idea for rest day ever! We gathered group of 13 friends and headed in two cars to Atlanta. There was Stas & Andrew from Russia, Nina &Peter from Slovakia, Marcel from Austria, Lukas from Czech, Lane from Belgium, Tyler from Canada, Nuria from Spain,  and Tomasz & Zosia also from Poland. It was so great to go in big group of friends and share this super fun experience! I can proudly say i did all of the biggest rollercoasters in park! Even the Sky Screamer - huge carousel lifting you very high in air, Acrophobia - 200 ft high tower of free falling and my favorite one - Goliath which was huge rollercoaster with big drops and alot of speed and turning. I did it 5 times! But after doing it for 3rd time in a row i felt already pretty dizzy. Then we had batman from gotham city and one more green one which offered us alot of loops. Also Ninja was just one big loop screwer. We left at 7 in the morning and got back after 12 in night! So we spend there full day but it was definetly worth it! Such a great adventure.

Sunday i had to go to doctor for some proper treatment as i got pretty bad cold sore infection but now i got strong cream which is supposed to heal it fast so im all positive thinking : )

Other days except training we spend playing chess & monopoly to keep our head running , reading books while chilling at hammocks or just hanging around with friends all around the world and having fun. All what freestyle is about - enjoying time with others.

World Champs, here we come!

Whoop Whoop!

Made it to America!

After great last days of training at HelliWelli and working at liquid-lifestyle.at i packed all my stuff and went with Adam to Vienna airport where i was flying from to Atlanta .

In Frankfurt - when i had to change a plane I met Tom from Austria and Stas and from there on we continued our journey together. Funny thing was we were sitting together in plane even thought we didnt plan it before.

We arrived at 4 pm in USA without any problems,
then rented our cool car ! Then after 200 miles with brake for shopping we made it to NOC. We slept in woods and in the morning got to playspot wheere we luckly found out that water this day was released earlier then normaly so despite my exhaustment after trip i got fast into my boat and enjoyed great session with only few people in the eddy! Other advantage was that today there are USA Nationals so i was said that the hole is really not that busy.

We will move later to camping ground and focus on getting used to the hole and preparing rides.

I will try to post photos and videos as often as it's possible to keep you updated!

Euro Cup #2 ! & Wildalpen

Last weekend - 27-28.07 took place Freestyle Fest in Troja (Prague) which was 2nd eurocup event!

We had loads of competitors in all of categories and again alot of great paddlers which made it high class competition. Through week trainings were quite limited as in Prauge there will be World Championships in Slalom in September so alot of slalom paddlers were training there. We had our trainings limited to morning and evening and as alot of people came to compete it was pretty busy.

also i had to go at wednesday evening by train to cracow for entry master degree exam and came back next day - which was pretty exhausting trip for me but I'm at 2nd degree studies now.

Friday was almost full training day and competition started at saturday. As usual i had some judging to do but watching all people high performence was really nice. Also had a while to observe the spot - after flood which happened lately it got pretty irregular and there was flushy tongue happening from time to time.

Qualification went well for me - after getting first good run i was already feeling confident and wanted to do some combos. All in all i ended up 2nd behind Peter which was nice position before semifinals. Then there was kayak cross and afterwards semifinals. After seeing some high scoring rides i got really motivated and went for really good run scoring 1070pts and finishing up at 1st position.

My semifinal ride , thanks to Pavel Benes for upload!

Unfortunetly i felt really tired and left evening party really fast. I also didnt feel too strong next day - probably all day trip took it's effect aswell. Anyway in finals the bar was set from beginiing really high and i wanted to do full combo run to get through it but i didnt have enough power and finished up at 4th position behind Martin Koll, Tomasz Czaplicki and from first position Peter Csonka. Honza Spindler was 5th.

Straight after finals we packed ourselves with Adam and left to wildalpen. Here with also Martin we will be training for next 2 weeks and then i will fly to Nantahala (USA) where im going to stay and train until World Championships begins.

Unfortunetly water here is super low as it didnt rain for over 3 weeks almost and great Helliwelli hole is very shallow and quite hard to do tricks. But we are working it out!
Here is short clip Martin prepared from - Helliwelli how low can You go?
