On the road! World Cup #1

Whoa, while from update but i didnt expect to be that busy! Right now sittin in car going to Salt – place of second World Cup, but let's get to begining of our journey.

Before we left i was super busy with all the exams going on and suddenly i got message from Stas – hey mate, remember I'm coming tomorrow? I was like wow, is it already the time! So Stas arrived on monday to my place, unfortunetly he had to wait few hours as i was just writing exam in the meantime, good i asked him not to call me as i would have to probably write exam again then ;) Then we spent two days hanging around in Cracow, doing shoping for trip and as i normaly do – i took him for some sightseeing.

Adam arrived in night wednesday/thursday, so we got a little bit delayed and we left very early morning from Cracow. And this is place when my typical day calendar schedule changes into trip calendar schedule – i probably can match few days with what was happening next so i will just put it in some kind of order.

As we had to pick up our jackson kayak boats from Rocroi in Llavorsi which is just few km from Sort - we drove straight there. As we were avoiding highways it took us 30 hours to get there! Althought it was super long drive – driving through small French villages was pretty awesome and we got to see some sweet architecture and style on our way.

So after picking our boats we went straight to try hole in Sort – where the last world cup will take place. Pretty much straight after we arrived we went for kayaking so we were pretty tired but so excited to finally jump to our boats that we couldnt stop ourselves. Unfortunetly the water level was quite low and the hole was trashy and it was hard to stick moves over there. We stayed at local paddlers place – Iaen. Then we had session in the morning and went straight to Salt. Sort is located quite in the mountains so getting on our way we had some sweet views but also becouse of that – the drive was longer then we expected.

We arrived to salt in evening and met Quim gettin there for evening session aswell. It was good fun to paddle together! Hole there is completly oposite to Sort there is only little bit of water coming and it's pretty slow. Unfortunetly the hole was broken after the flood and didnt want that good, so we had only one session and then decided to go to Millau. We arrived there in deep night and all campings were closed so we just punked in some open garden and put this card behind our window :)

The hole in Millau was just different then holes i used to paddle. It was fun and nice but required time to get used to it. Also still i was struggling with very different shape of kayak after my vajda beast. It's sure flying high but is more round and harder to throw around. But every day i was getting better and better in it. National trainigs started at sunday – we were with New Zeland, Austria, Canada and Belgium but alot of paddlers didnt make it for trainings in first days so we had quite good group to train. I found rockstar amazing for aerial moves and lunar orbits, also quite easy for tricky woos.

Event started on wednesday from then on i was really busy as i was either kayaking or judging. In mens I was on the first heat and I didnt do well, i did alot of moves but they werent properly executed and i got scored really low

In squirt i got to finals - took 4th place!

Here are my 2 rides put together, what doy ou think of them ;)?

Now we arrived to salt, hole here hasnt run at full power yet , but tomorrow we kick off with trainings!

Stay in tune!
